be kind by noticing the little things 🥰
Monday through Friday, you can find me at a daycare center cooking lunch for preschoolers.
One day after the kids had gone home, I was talking with some of the teachers.
A relevant side note: did I mention my mom works here?! Well, she does.
After my mother recovered from COVID-19, I was sure to check on her throughout the day.
While checking on my mother, another teacher said, “Bria, you are such a good daughter.”
And my mother was like, “...oh yeah, she is.”
😳 This statement shocked me because I thought I had always been 'good'.
The conversation went to this place where these teachers (and mothers) mentioned that they have to remind themselves that their children are 'good'.
My brain took this to a deeper level when I asked myself: 🤔 do I see all the good in me?
At times we are prone to hyper-focusing on the negative things we've done and gone through in life.
But where can we remind ourselves that we are good?
Your past self did their best to get you to where you are right now.
You are doing great. And you have always had your best interest at heart.
💞 It’s safe to trust yourself. 💞 It’s time to believe you did your best.
Shifting your mindset to gratitude over guilt-tripping takes time.
Each day you get to decide to see the 'good' in yourself.
